More than 40 ducks were discovered dead in front of Delray Feed and Supply, a business west of Delray Beach, over the weekend. The owners were shocked and disgusted by the illegal dumping of the remains. Michelle Cohen, owner of the business, took photos and alerted the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to report the incident.
According to Cohen, at least 40 duck carcasses were found in the dump, and she suspected that they had been shot. The owners believe that the remains came from a variety of ducks but declined to touch them further due to their disgust. Surveillance video is currently being reviewed to find any potential leads.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is conducting an investigation into this illegal dumping incident. Cohen, who is highly supportive of hunting but only under respectful conditions towards animals, hopes for a resolution to this issue.
