The Black Business Coalition is set to hold its first Minority Business Expo at Turner Theater inside The Factory at Franklin from 4:30-7 p.m. on February 15th as part of Black History Month celebrations. Co-chaired by Robert Blair and Tara Blue, the coalition was established in 2020 under Williamson Inc.’s Economic Development Office with a mission to address and highlight the unique needs of minority and Black business owners in local communities.
Williamson, Inc. CEO Matt Large stated that this event is not just a celebration of Black History Month but also a platform to showcase and uplift the diverse talents and contributions of minority-owned businesses. The coalition’s directory boasts more than 100 businesses in various fields such as fashion, media, and pest control.
Tara Blue, Chairman of the Coalition, expressed their excitement about the upcoming expo and encouraged minority-owned businesses to participate in order to provide them with an opportunity to share their products and services with the community. With over 50 businesses already registered to participate and offer complimentary tastings, the expo is expected to attract a large crowd.
Admission to the event is free, and registration is not required; however, those who register will be eligible for door prizes. Additional information on the business expo, the Black Business Coalition, and Williamson Inc. can be found at www.williamsonchamber
