On Sunday morning at 9:35 a.m., a traffic accident occurred on the A1 highway near Drežnik, Karlovac, reports the Karlovac Police Department. The accident was caused by a 55-year-old man driving a passenger car with Ogulin license plates who hit the rear of a police vehicle with Zagreb license plates driven by a 56-year-old man.
The force of the impact threw both vehicles into a metal guardrail on the central belt, after which they bounced back onto the roadway. The 55-year-old man was seriously injured in the traffic accident, while a 56-year-old man and a 53-year-old passenger from his vehicle were slightly injured.
According to police officials, the driver will be issued a mandatory misdemeanor order for causing the accident. Additionally, they will forward a report to the competent state attorney for further investigation and potential prosecution.
