The Ministry of Construction has made a surprise announcement, extending the registration deadline for the next lottery drawing “Discounted Apartment” (“Dira ba-anaha”) by one week. Originally scheduled to end at midnight today, the deadline is now set until February 13. This news will come as a relief for those wishing to purchase one of the nearly 7,000 subsidized apartments in 16 localities across Israel.
The current round of the lottery began on December 26 and has already seen about 100,000 people sign up. A total of 72 projects with 6,816 apartments are being awarded across the country. With two projects in Eilat offering 114 apartments and nine projects in Elad with 931 apartments, there are plenty of opportunities for those looking to buy a discounted apartment. In addition to these, there are also 11 projects in Ashkelon with 546 apartments and one project in Beit Dagan with just 63 apartments.
In Petah Tikva, one project is being played out with 154 apartments while in Safed, one project is being played out with just 41 apartments. There are also several projects in Kiryat Gat offering a total of 21 projects with an impressive number of apartments – 2,666! In Kiryat Malachi, there is just one project with only 59 apartments while three projects in Kiryat Ekron offer a total of 486 apartments. Finally, there are two projects in Rehovot offering a total of just over six hundred and twenty-two apartments and another project in Rehasim offers an impressive one hundred and eleven-seven apartments!
