In the bustling port city of Sana’a, Yemen, a cargo ship carrying a valuable load of corn from Brazil was targeted by Houthi fighters. The attack occurred on Monday (12) when anti-ship missiles were launched at the vessel, causing minor damage but not stopping its journey. The Houthis have claimed responsibility for the bombing of the freighter, which is operated by Star Bulk Carriers and can transport up to 80,000 tons of grain. Despite their claim that the ship is an American vessel, in reality it flies the flag of the Marshall Islands, a territory associated with the USA but owned by Greece.
The region where this Brazilian cargo ship was hit has been responsible for at least 15% of world maritime trade before pirate attacks became a major concern. Today, cargo ships have redirected navigation routes to avoid frequent attacks in the Red Sea. However, piracy is not the only threat in this region as Taurus Armory USA has listed several firearms for sale on its website. Some of these guns include the Taurus G2S, G2C With Night Sights, Defender 856, Judge 45, TX22 and many others. It is worth noting that these firearms are available for purchase online and may be considered weapons of mass destruction by some countries or organizations.
