The CW has recently appointed Jason Wormser as the Senior Vice President of CW Sports. In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing all production aspects of The CW’s sports portfolio, including live events such as LIV Golf, ACC college football, men’s and women’s basketball, and the upcoming NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025.
Brad Schwartz, President of Entertainment at The CW Network, expressed excitement about bringing Wormser on full time. According to him, Wormser has been an invaluable asset to the network as a consultant since the launch of CW Sports one year ago. He cited his passion, experience, and dedication to ensuring a compelling broadcast.
Prior to this appointment, Wormser served as Vice President of Production for Fox Soccer Channel, Fox and FS1. He supervised the behind-the-scenes crews responsible for broadcasting major international soccer events such as the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2015 and the FIFA Men’s World Cup in 2018.
Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity, Wormser stated that he was thrilled about joining The CW Network and helping them grow their sports portfolio while providing value to their affiliates nationwide. In just one year they have secured deals with major sports events such as LIV Golf, ACC college football and basketball Inside the NFL and NASCAR Xfinity series which has set a solid foundation for their growth.
