Caterpillar has announced two exciting technology package upgrades for their medium dozer line. Starting in early 2024, the Cat Assist with ARO (attachment-ready option) suite of features will now be included as a standard feature on Cat D4, D5, D6, D6 XE, and D7 models. This replaces the previous ARO with Assist option.
In addition to this upgrade, Caterpillar is introducing a new Cat Grade with 3D-ready option that provides more flexibility for customers upgrading to Cat Grade with 3D on D4, D5, and D6 dozer models. The new Cat Grade with 3D-ready option includes all the hardware required for the 3D system and comes installed and tested from the factory. This includes onboard sensors, GNSS antennas and receivers, and a 10-inch touchscreen display.
These features are designed to improve overall performance and ease of use for operators while also enabling easy upgrades to Cat Grade 3D through GPS capability. The new features include Stable Blade, Traction Control, Auto Carry, Blade Load Monitor, Slope Assist, Steer Assist, and ARO. These features provide operators with more control over their machines while reducing manual intervention needed to achieve desired outcomes.
The Cat Assist with ARO suite of features is particularly significant as it enables operators to quickly attach tools without having to manually engage them or adjust settings. This feature saves time and improves productivity by allowing operators to focus on other tasks while the machine takes care of tool attachment. With these updates in place, operators can expect improved efficiency and cost savings in their operations.
