A man was killed and five others were injured in a shooting at an elevated train platform in the Bronx, New York City, during rush hour. This tragic incident happened around 4:30 p.m., when many children were returning home from school and commuters were starting their evening travels.
The New York City Fire Department spokesperson confirmed that four of the injured were taken to hospitals with serious injuries. The police have not released any further details about the shooting, but have announced a manhunt for the shooter who fled the scene.
Witnesses described what they saw: “I saw sparks when the bullets hit the wall,” said Efrain Feliciano, 61, to the Daily News. “There were at least six shots,” he continued. “The train came and there were two children screaming.” According to reports from authorities, a young man was killed in the shooting.
The police suspect that the shooting resulted from an argument that ended with one person pulling a gun and are actively searching for the shooter or shooters.
