On November 25th, the City of Medina will be participating in Small Business Saturday to promote and support local businesses within the community. This initiative is part of a larger “Shop Small Movement” founded by American Express in 2010 to help small businesses thrive across the country. The event takes place every year after Thanksgiving and Black Friday, at the height of the holiday shopping season.
To celebrate this day, Medina will set up a table in the Huntington Bank lobby located at 39 Public Square with “Shop Small” handouts and information about their local small business community. From noon to 2 pm, Santa Claus will also be stopping by Wichert Insurance at 119 N. Court St., spreading holiday cheer among shoppers.
Recent studies show that in Medina, over 90% of storefronts in the business district are filled with local, independent retail shops, boutiques, restaurants and pubs as well as a wide range of services.
