Elon Musk, the American billionaire and CEO of SpaceX, has announced that his company will not be selling Starlink terminals to Russia. This decision directly contradicts a report from the Ukrainian government claiming that Russian paratroopers were using the terminals. In response to these claims, Musk vehemently denied any involvement with Russia and stated that to the best of his knowledge, no Starlinks had been sold to the country, either directly or indirectly.
Just last week, Musk declared that he had no business relations with Russia and that Starlink did not operate there. This statement came in response to an audio recording released by Ukrainian military intelligence on Telegram, which reportedly featured Russian paratroopers discussing the deployment of Starlink terminals. No statement has been issued by Russia regarding these claims. It should be noted that Starlink is operated by SpaceX.
