Amidst the ongoing debate over the 2024 presidential race, the physical and mental health of both Donald Trump and Joe Biden has become a major concern. Trump’s lead in the Republican nominating contest and Biden’s impending 81st birthday have sparked intense scrutiny of their respective health conditions.
On Monday, a note released by Trump’s physician, Bruce Aronwald, stated that the former president is in “excellent health” and will continue to enjoy an active lifestyle for years to come. The note, which was posted on Trump’s Truth Social account, was released on the same day as Biden’s birthday. According to Aronwald, Trump has been able to reduce his weight through dietary changes and regular exercise while maintaining a demanding schedule.
Trump’s physical exams were reportedly within normal range, with his cognitive exams described as exceptional. However, it is worth noting that this note was signed by a different doctor than the one who produced a similar note in 2016. In that case, Trump’s physician Harold Bornstein noted that Trump had dictated the contents of the letter himself.
In the 2016 letter, Trump revealed that he weighed 215 pounds (98 kg) and stood at 6 feet 3 inches (1.9 meters) tall. This information was released in connection with a legal dispute surrounding his attempts to overturn his election defeat in Georgia, where he has pleaded not guilty in several criminal cases.
Overall, while both candidates have demonstrated remarkable resilience and dedication to their respective causes despite their advanced age, their health remains an important factor to consider when evaluating their potential candidacies for presidency in 2024.
