In 2024, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and Junior Achievement-Rocky Mountain will induct new members into the Colorado Business Hall of Fame. The class includes former Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz, who is known for his development of a season pass program that led to the launch of the industry-changing Epic Pass in 2008.
Under Katz’s leadership, Vail Resorts grew its footprint from five to 41 resorts and increased the number of employees at its Broomfield headquarters from 200 to 1,200. He also created the Katz Amsterdam Foundation with a focus on nonprofits in mountain communities that address mental and behavioral challenges, which has given over $22 million back to the community. Although he stepped down as CEO in 2021, Katz remains on the board as executive chairman and continues to be fully involved in the strategic operations of the company.
Other honorees inducted into the Colorado Business Hall of Fame this year include Rose Andom, Pat Hamill, John A. Ikard, Steve Schuck, and Elizabeth Hickok Robbins Stone. The induction ceremony will take place at the annual Colorado Business Hall of Fame dinner on Feb. 15 at the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center, hosted by Denver7’s Brian Sanders.
